KMG Wins Unicef Award In Spain

The Spanish National Committee for UNICEF selected KMG-Ethiopia for the 2015 International Award for its outstanding contributions to the cause of women and children. In its announcement letter dated April 30, the Committed said “The Jury has unanimously considered that KMG is the candidate to be awarded in this category, taking into account the Organization’s merits to transform the lives of thousands of girls and women in Ethiopia, with a specific focus on customary practices harmful to them such as bridal abduction, violence, or female genital mutilation. Furthermore, the Jury also wish to recognize the Organization’s work and efforts towards a social transformation,,,,,On behalf of all the team of UNICEF Spanish National Committee, our most sincere congratulations for this well-deserved Award.”

The Awards’ ceremony took place on June 23rd in Madrid under the Presidency of HM Letizia, Queen of Spain, Honorary President of the Spanish Committee for UNICEF, who gave the award to each winner. Ms. Gobaletch Gebre accepted the award to KMG on behalf of the entire organization and its supporters.
